Description

The module will introduce students to public companies and in particular the regulation affecting them and raising finance. This necessarily involves a consideration of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. The module is loosely split into two parts. The first part deals with equity finance and includes dealings on the Stock Exchange. The second part looks at debt finance including secured lending. Topics covered within the two parts include financial assistance, insider dealing, market abuse, groups, corporate taxation, pre-lending considerations, lending documentation and forms of security. The course also considers the relationship between equity and debt finance.
